Statement of faith

What we believe

The historic Christian convictions that shape our worship, discipleship and life together.

1. The Scriptures

The Old and New Testaments are inspired by God: His revelation to humanity and the authoritative rule of faith and conduct.

2. The Godhead

God is one, eternally existing as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Son is the Word made flesh, fully God and fully man; the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and is eternal.

3. Humanity, fall and redemption

Humanity was created in God's image. Through sin our relationship with God was broken; Jesus Christ gave His life to redeem us. Salvation is God's gift, received by grace through faith and producing works acceptable to God.

4. New birth and eternal life

Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ. Those born again by the Holy Spirit receive eternal life.

5. The Church and its mission

Jesus Christ is the head of the universal Church. The Church proclaims God's truth, administers the ordinances, encourages maturity and glorifies God through worship.

6. Water baptism

Baptism by immersion is for believers and identifies them with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection.

7. Communion

Communion is a memorial and proclamation of the suffering and death of Jesus Christ, shared by believers until His return.

8. Baptism in the Holy Spirit

The baptism in the Holy Spirit brings power for life and service and the gifts of the Spirit for ministry. It is distinct from the new birth and is evidenced by speaking in other tongues as the Spirit enables.

9. Sanctification

Sanctification is a definite and progressive work of grace through which believers are purified in heart and mind.

10. Divine healing

We believe healing is provided through Christ's atonement and received through the prayer of faith.

11. The return of Christ

We anticipate the return of Jesus Christ as King of kings and the resurrection of all who have died in Him.

12. Future reward and punishment

We believe believers will remain forever with the Lord, while those who reject salvation face final judgment and separation from Him.

13. Marriage, family and life

Marriage is the union of one man and one woman. Children are a blessing from the Lord, and all human life is sacred from conception to natural death.
